Justin is an experienced general nurse who has over 20 years of clinical practice, including accident and emergency, general medical and surgery, care of the elderly and sexual health/HIV.

Health Support Personal Assistant - Xhensila Zeka

Xhensila is the newest member of our team, and has a difficult to pronounce name, so is happy to be called ‘Jenny’ as its easier for the English to pronounce! Having been bought up in Italy, she partially completed her nurse training there is an experienced and compassionate carer.

Health Support Personal Assistant - Vera Peers

Vera has come into care work part-time since retiring from many years of working in retail as a customer services supervisor. As someone who likes to stay active and keep fit, she leads our Walking Support service, as well as supporting some of our dementia 1:1 clients. Vera loves all things dogs, and also being a trained cook, she loves baking, and often treats her clients to some of her scrumptious cup cakes!

Health Support Personal Assistant - Manuel Rodriguez-Campos

Manuel comes from a health and fitness background, and is a qualified Personal Trainer. He leads our Exercise at Home service, working 1:1 with clients, tailing exercise programmes suitable for their abilities, medical/physical condition and ambitions, using a range of NHS approved exercises. Originally from Spain, Manuel has lived in London for many years.

Health Support Personal Assistant – Maria Athinodorou

Maria is an experienced HSPA, originally Greek-Cypriot, but has now lived in the UK for many years. Maria works specially to deliver our escorting, decluttering and dementia 1:1 support services.

My Care, My Way Self Care Pilot

Do you enjoy helping others and making a positive difference to improve the health and wellbeing outcomes of more vulnerable members of the community?

MSH @ Home is currently recruiting additional Health Support Personal Assistants (HSPAs) to support our Self Care programme with older people in Kensington and Chelsea and North Westminster. We specifically require HSPAs to assist with the following activities:

Escorting - assistance to help older patients attend hospital and clinic appointments. This involves meeting at the patients home, travelling with them to the appointment on either provided or public transport, attending the consultation (if patient consents) and taking notes to report back to GP referrers, then travelling back and settling the patient back at home. It can also include taking less able patients (such as those in wheelchairs) to social events, shopping trips and to enjoy cultural events such as museums and galleries.

Decluttering - weekly support over a six week period to assist patients to sort through their belongings and tidy their living space to prevent the risk of trips or falls. This requires someone with sensitivity but gentle assertive skills, as it’s as much to do with assisting patients psychologically in addition the removing clutter.

Walking support - weekly visits over six weeks to assist patients to build their confidence with mobilising get out and about in their local community, thereby reducing social isolation.

Dementia 1:1 support - weekly visits over 10 weeks to assist patients with a dementia diagnosis and their families to cope with the diagnosis. Undertaking activities that will reduce social isolation, stimulate neurological and cognitive function and developing coping strategies.

 

This work is offered within a sessional working contract, operating from 08:00 - 18:00 Monday to Friday. Successful applicants will be allocated a caseload of clients and manage their own diaries, meaning you can schedule sessions around other commitments, giving you flexibility of your working time.

In return, you will be offered excellent Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities, including support to complete your National Care Certificate within the first 12 weeks of starting with the company. MSH @ Home is also a registered London Living Wage Employer offering competitive pay rates. Paid for direct session delivery only, however travel from your home to visiting patients is reimbursed.
