We are currently recruiting for:

Health Support Personal Assistants – N1 Team

MSH @ Home is currently recruiting additional Health Support Personal Assistants (HSPAs) to support our Neighbourhood Team in Angel, Islington. The team currently provide personal care to a lovely elderly gentleman with reduced mobility, that involves twice daily care visits (am & pm). The gentleman has full capacity but needs assistance with personal care, general house keeping, shopping and meal preparation and escorting to appointments. The team is managed by a qualified nurse who is available for support and co-ordinates the care of the client.

This work is offered within a sessional working contract, with visits normally being at 09:00 and 19:00 daily, for a minimum of one hour per visit. In return, you will be offered excellent Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities, including support to complete your National Care Certificate within the first 12 weeks of starting with the company. MSH @ Home is also a registered London Living Wage Employer offering competitive pay rates. Paid for direct session delivery only, however travel from your home to visiting patients is reimbursed.

Health Support Personal Assistants –  RBKC

MSH @ Home is currently recruiting additional Health Support Personal Assistants (HSPAs) to support our Self Care programme with older people in Kensington and Chelsea and North Westminster. We specifically require HSPAs to assist with the following activities:

Escorting – assistance to help older patients attend hospital and clinic appointments. This involves meeting at the patients home, travelling with them to the appointment on either provided or public transport, attending the consultation (if patient consents) and taking notes to report back to GP referrers, then travelling back and settling the patient back at home. It can also include taking less able patients (such as those in wheelchairs) to social events, shopping trips and to enjoy cultural events such as museums and galleries.

Decluttering – weekly support over a six week period to assist patients to sort through their belongings and tidy their living space to prevent the risk of trips or falls. This requires someone with sensitivity but gentle assertive skills, as it’s as much to do with assisting patients psychologically in addition the removing clutter.

Walking support – weekly visits over six weeks to assist patients to build their confidence with mobilising get out and about in their local community, thereby reducing social isolation.

Dementia 1:1 support – weekly visits over 10 weeks to assist patients with a dementia diagnosis and their families to cope with the diagnosis. Undertaking activities that will reduce social isolation, stimulate neurological and cognitive function and developing coping strategies.

This work is offered within a sessional working contract, operating from 08:00 – 18:00 Monday to Friday. Successful applicants will be allocated a caseload of clients and manage their own diaries, meaning you can schedule sessions around other commitments, giving you flexibility of your working time.

It also ensures an annual pay increase each year, determined by an independent pay review body. Our Registered Nurses are paid enhanced rates and can be employed through our payroll or work as Associates on a consultancy basis.

All personal care support workers are required to undertake our in-house induction programme as well as the on-going training courses provided throughout the year, which are designed to help develop new skills and advance your career with us.

At MSH @ Home, all new personal care support workers and nurses are provided with a comprehensive Induction program. This program is based on the new Care Certificate and lasts 12 weeks, consisting of a study sessions; workbook assignments; work based assessments and one to one mentoring.

The Care Certificate was developed as a result of Cavendish review which took place in July 2013. The aim of this new program is to ensure that all new team members can demonstrate the right skills, knowledge and behaviours to provide high quality and compassionate care.

After completing this 12 week program, new team members then have the opportunely to enrol on other accredited training courses, as well as undertaking their NVQ in Health & Social Care. On-going training and development for all staff is documented within their Professional Development Plan (PDP), reviewed regularly during supervision with their line manager.
